Aykut Kocaman has resigned as manager of Fenerbahce the club have confirmed on Wednesday.

The 48-year-old led the Istanbul side to Turkish Cup success just a week ago, as they beat Trabzonspor 1-0 in the final.

But Kocaman has now departed, with several reports suggesting that the breakdown of his relationship with club chairman Aziz Yildram was to blame.
Mr Aykut Kocaman, club sporting director and technical supervisor, forwarded his letter of resignation which was accepted by the Board of Directors, a statement of the club s official website read.
(We) thank you endlessly, for imparting the club s values and for your achievements.
Kocaman replaced Christoph Daum as manager in June 2010, and won the Turkish Super Lig title in his first season at the club.
He followed that up with successive Turkish Cup victories, but Kocaman could not help his team wrestle the league title away from Galatasaray in his final two seasons.
